High Sea Aventure with Pirates & Mermaids
First & Second Grade Summer Readers went on a high sea adventure today! As they arrived at Nessy Island, they received a tropical lei. They created colorful pirate or mermaid sand art pictures. Assembled their own South Island treat with a pudding cup, cookie crumb sand and topped with a “Jolly Roger” flag and gummy shark.
While the group enjoy their treats and tropical punch, Miss Jean read the book “A is for Arrr! A Pirate Alphabet” by Laura Purdie Salas and a history of mythical mermaids she found on-line. Then the kids enjoyed playing BEACH Bingo and everyone took home a sack full of “booty.”
